M45 - Pleiades
The Pleiades, popularly called "Chickens" or "Seven Sisters", are a breathtaking open star cluster in the constellation Taurus, which is among the closest and brightest objects of its kind in the sky. Although we usually see six to seven of the brightest stars with the naked eye, this young star system actually contains over a thousand. Since ancient times, the Pleiades have served as a test of human visual acuity: the more stars a person could distinguish, the better their eyesight.
