IC 1805 - The Heart Nebula

The Heart Nebula is a vast emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia, approximately 7,500 light-years away. It is an active region where young stars are born. It glows red due to hydrogen, which is excited by the glowing surrounding stars. It is not visible to the naked eye, the image was taken with narrowband filters outside the visible spectrum and converted to the HOO palette.
